There are two types of lists within the Stackd platform.
- Versioned Lists - Watch the Video
- Lists that are updated regularly and maintain multiple versions of over time. These are fully controlled by your organization, and new versions should be created when updates are required.
- Global Lists - Watch the Video
- Single-source-of-truth lists that populate data throughout Stackd. Changes to these lists affect current projects and should be reviewed carefully before being made.
Copy a Versioned List to Set a New Default
(recommended)
- Navigate to “System” > “Lists”
- Select the list type to display all versions
- Select the list you want to edit and set as the new default (typically the current default)
- Click the copy icon to create a new list version
- Select the “More Actions” ellipsis to add, delete, or expand list item content
- Arrange list items by clicking and dragging the arrange icon
Some lists depend on other lists (for example, Institutes within Codes and Guidelines).
When one list depends on another, edit the source list first. See, Edit a List.
After updating the source list, edit the dependent list and confirm dependent columns.
- Rename the dependent list to differentiate it from existing lists
- Click “Save”
Ensure the correct list is set as the default by selecting the new list and choosing “More Actions” > “Make Default”.
Create a Versioned List
(not recommended)
- Navigate to “System” > “Lists”
- Click “Add List”
- Select the list type you want to create
List types populate predefined fields that cannot be deleted.
- Click “Add Column” to add editable columns for each row
- Use the trash icon to delete any added columns
- Use the “Order” field to control column display order by using arrows or entering a numeric value
- Click “Add Item” to add selectable options to the list
- Use the three-dot menu under “Actions” to add, delete, or expand a list items. Expanding an item opens a panel showing item details
- Enter the required details for each list item
- Click “Save”
Edit a List
- Navigate to “System” > “Lists”
- Select the list you want to edit and update the details shown in the right-hand panel
- Click “Save”
Delete a List
- Navigate to “System” > “Lists”
- Select the list that you want to delete
- Click “More Actions”
- Click “Delete”
Before deleting a list, confirm in “System” > “Settings” that it is not set as a default list.
Deleting a list requires the appropriate permissions.
Configure Default Lists
- Navigate to “System” > “Settings”
- Select the list name you want to edit
- Click “More Actions” and select “Make Default”
- Click “Save”
